Saturday, October 6, 2012: Mission ages lowered! I began my papers.

Wednesday, November 15, 2012: I recieved my call to Lisbon, Portugal!
(My "official" guess was Ohio. I never dreamed I'd be going to Europe.)

Saturday, January 5, 2013: I went through the Salt Lake temple - what a wonderful day!

I love this temple. It's so beautiful and has such an amazing history. It was amazing to have the chance to partake of the blessings found in the House of the Lord.

Wednesday, April 3, 2013: I will (finally) report to the Provo MTC.

On Sister Missionaries

Sister Andrea Radke-Moss: "Sisters are not an addendum or afterthought; they are essential to the program, even irreplaceable. Indeed, being a returned sister missionary is something of a badge of honor."

Sister Carole Stephens: "It is our blessing and responsibility as covenant women to participate in this work whether we choose to serve at home or as a full-time missionary. I am confident that this change will bless all of our young single sisters as they prepare for future divine roles and responsibilities."

On Portugal

In the fall of 1981 Elder Boyd K. Packer visited Portugal. During his stay he said to the mission President, Harold G. Hillam, "It is going to be in Portugal as it has been in South America, where there has been so much growth and advancement in the Church. The growth in Portugal will be slow at first, but then there will be an explosion."

During a visit by Elder Theodore Tuttle in February of 1983 he said, "Portugal will be the key that will open Europe, and will help the Church grow here in this part of the world."

In 1986, Elder Russell M. Nelson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said, "Portugal will be covered from north to south and from east to west with stakes of Zion. Chapels will be built in cities and towns throughout the whole land. And as a consequence of the growth of the kingdom of God, this nation will be exceedingly blessed and will become again a great nation as it was in times of old."
